SCALES Family Violence Unit (FVU) provides legal and non-legal support to women with increased vulnerability, experiencing or at risk of family, domestic and sexual violence.
SCALES FVU is an integrated multidisciplinary team of lawyers, client advocate, financial counsellor and a specialist family and domestic violence counsellor.
What we offer
- integrated legal, advocacy, financial counselling and counselling services
- risk assessments, safety planning and case management
- strengths based and trauma informed approach to supporting women to engage in the legal process
Eligibility
- experiencing or at risk of family, domestic or sexual violence
- reside in the City of Rockingham or City of Kwinana
- the area of law is one practiced by SCALES
- there is no conflict of interest

- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women
- women from migrant, refugee or culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- women with a disability
- younger women
- women experiencing mental health issues
- older women
- women experiencing financial hardship
